Add your policy pages to your website

Every plan gives you the finished policy text. This guide shows where to paste it, and where each platform keeps its legal-page and footer link settings. It takes about five minutes per store.

Then “Add menu item” → Link → Pages.

1. Where to paste the policy text

  1. In your Shopify admin, open Online Store → Pages and click Add page.
  2. Title the page (for example “Privacy Policy”), then click into the content editor and paste the policy text (right-click → Paste, or Ctrl/Cmd+V). Formatting from the downloaded file carries over.
  3. Click Save. Repeat for each document in your pack — Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Refund & Return Policy, Shipping Policy and Cookie Policy.
  4. Recommended shortcut: go to Settings → Policies. It has dedicated boxes for Refund policy, Privacy policy, Terms of service and Shipping policy — paste each document into its matching box and click Save. Anything entered here is shown to customers automatically at checkout.
  5. Pages created in Settings → Policies appear under Pages too; you can edit either way, but keep the content identical.

2. Where the footer / legal page links live

  1. Pages you create are NOT added to your footer automatically. Go to Online Store → Navigation and open your Footer menu.
  2. Click Add menu item, enter the policy name (e.g. “Privacy Policy”), click the Link field, choose Pages, and select the page you just created.
  3. Repeat for each policy page, then click Save menu — the links appear in your storefront footer immediately.

Block themes use Appearance ▸ Editor instead.

1. Where to paste the policy text

  1. In your WordPress admin, open Pages → Add Page.
  2. Enter the title (e.g. “Privacy Policy”), paste the policy text into the block editor, and click Publish.
  3. Repeat for each document in your pack.
  4. For the privacy page, also go to Settings → Privacy and select your new page under “Change your Privacy Policy page” — WordPress and WooCommerce then link to it automatically (including on the registration and checkout forms).
  5. For the terms page, go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced and set your page under “Terms and conditions” so customers must accept it at checkout.

2. Where the footer / legal page links live

  1. Classic themes: open Appearance → Menus, select (or create) your footer menu, tick your new policy pages in the Pages panel, click Add to Menu, drag them into place and Save Menu.
  2. Block themes (Twenty Twenty-Three and newer): open Appearance → Editor, click the footer area, select the navigation block, click + and search for each policy page to add it, then Save.
  3. If your theme has no footer menu, use Appearance → Widgets (or the Site Editor) and add a Navigation/Menu block to the footer widget area.

Dashboard stores: Settings ▸ Store Policies fills checkout policies.

Footer is site-wide — links appear on every page after Publish.

1. Where to paste the policy text

  1. In the Wix Editor, click Pages & Menu (left sidebar) → + Add Page → Blank Page.
  2. Name the page after the policy. Click the page, then Add (+) → Text → a paragraph text box, and paste the policy text into it. Stretch the box so the full text is visible.
  3. Optional: in Pages & Menu, open the page's Settings and turn off “Show in menus” so it stays out of your main navigation while remaining live.
  4. Click Publish, then repeat for each document.
  5. Wix stores: in the Dashboard, go to Settings → Store Policies to fill the refund, shipping and privacy/terms sections shown during checkout.

2. Where the footer / legal page links live

  1. Wix footers are not linked to your pages automatically. In the Editor, scroll to the footer (it appears on every page) and click it.
  2. Add a Text element with the policy names (e.g. “Privacy Policy · Terms · Refunds”), then select each name and click the Link icon → Page, choosing the matching policy page.
  3. Repeat for every policy, then click Publish — because the footer is a site-wide strip, the links now appear on every page.

Prefer not to copy anything?

Each document also has a hosted link and an embed snippet on your pack page. Paste the link into your footer and the page always shows your current policy.

Platform menus change from time to time. If a setting has moved, search your platform’s help centre for “policy pages” or “footer menu”.
